The PMI AIRS Project led a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) training Jul 10-12 in Accra, Ghana. The training, which included 19 participants from nine PMI AIRS countries, introduced and reviewed M&E procedures and best practices and allowed participants to share experiences and discuss lessons learned from conducting spray operations in each of their own countries.
Specifically, the training focused on proper data collection and data quality assurance methods and the use of data collection tools, familiarized parrticipants with how collected data will be used in IRS program monitoring, and trained them on the PMI AIRS database system set-up, execution, and trouble shooting.
Bintou Doumbia, the Database Manager from the PMI AIRS Project in Mali, said the training was, “Very interesting! Before I didn’t know many of these things, but now I know much more like how to fill out all of the data collection forms, and now I know the roles and responsibilities of the M&E manager and database manager.”
