Building Capacity to Fight Malaria

In 2012 Babakar Guy became the chief medical doctor for Koumpentoum District, located in the Sahel Desert in Senegal. In the small communities Babakar works, malaria is still the number one cause for health clinic visits. To control the spread of malaria, Babakar knows that prevention and treatment is essential. But before coming to Koumpentoum, Babakar was unfamiliar with indoor residual spraying and its powerful methods to prevent malaria. Working with AIRS, Babakar quickly became an advocate of IRS and understood the importance of local ownership of IRS.
