USAID and Abt Associates Collaborate with LAC Countries to Fight Mosquito-borne Diseases
In September 2016, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the Zika AIRS Project (ZAP) to respond to the rapid spread of the Zika virus across Latin America and the Caribbean. In three years, ZAP worked with more than 10 countries in the region to improve entomological monitoring and surveillance, vector control and environmental management. The results were incredible.
